By now, you’ve surely seen the memes, so you know very well that in a few days, it’s gonna be May. (Isn’t that right, Justin Timberlake?) For us soap fans, that means more than the sprouting of spring flowers and the onset of our allergies, though. It means that sweeps is gonna put the pedal to the metal on The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives.

Who’s going to be doing what to — and with — whom? Anyone who has ever tuned in to a daytime drama for even a string of days in a row can probably guess a lot of the action that’s coming down the pike. Our shows may be great at tantalizing and titillating and building houses of cards just so that we can watch them fall down, but they are about as good at playing those same cards close to the vest as our dear old Aunt Essie after a second glass of sherry. (Man, that woman loves her sherry!)

<p>If we were <em>Days of Our Lives</em>, we’d wait years before letting Nicole find out that Jude is really her son. But since we’re not <em>Days of Our Lives</em>, the soap will almost certainly serve Sloan her just desserts and plop the tyke back in his actual mother’s arms before May calls it a day.</p>

<p><em>Days of Our Lives</em> already hinted that it had <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/days-of-our-lives/comings-and-goings/725178/recast-gabi-who-is-cherie-jimenez-playing-al-calderon/" target="_blank">recast Camila Banus as Gabi</a>. So perhaps we’ll finally get to see her returned to Stefan’s arms so that they can figure out who made Li a casualty of the ultimate backstab. (That is, <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/days-of-our-lives/news/725296/remington-hoffman-return-li-shin-alive/" target="_blank">if you believe that he’s really dead</a>.)</p>

<p>Joining the ranks of the <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/gallery/general-hospital-villains-redeemed-photos-sonny-sam-carly/" target="_blank"><em>General Hospital</em> characters who have been redeemed</a>, Ava is sure to do right by Sonny and reveal that something is amiss with his bipolar pills. After playing a starring role in Morgan’s death, no way would she want a repeat of the heartache and ostracism that followed.</p>

<p>As <em>Young & Restless</em>’ Harrison continues to suffer the aftereffects of his “stay” with Jordan, it will be Claire who is able to make the youngster understand that she was so far off her rocker, she was actually on the couch. As a result, even Summer won’t be able to hold the grudge against Claire that she’s dying to!</p>

<p><em>Bold & Beautiful</em> could become <em>Sneaky & Avaricious</em> if Poppy finally tires of being seen as an irresponsible druggy and makes it her mission to become Mrs. Bill Spencer. If she can’t earn Li’s respect, dang it, she’ll marry up and freaking <em>buy</em> it!</p>

<p>We’ll finally find out whether <em>Days of Our Lives</em>’ Everett is lying about not remembering who Bobby is when the truth comes out that he’s got a split personality. The caddish half of him was hitched to Jada, and the Mr. Nice Guy half wined and dined Stephanie.</p>

<p>Although <em>General Hospital</em> will finally let Anna in on the secret that Valentin is the brains behind Pikeman, she’ll find that bringing her ex to justice will be easier said than done. Could she fall for Brennan’s charms as she uses him to get the ammo to blow Valentin out of the water?</p>

She’s sure to mark a new beginning for Liam, who you may have noticed lately has been realizing what a fickle fella he’s been over the years.</p>

In one, a bad decision (“Kamikaze, please!”) leads to a worse one (a flirtation with a <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/the-young-and-the-restless/news/727172/best-new-character/" target="_blank">stranger who has an axe to grind</a> with The Mustache).</p>
