Ridge Pops the Question — and [Spoiler] Saves Kelly’s Life (2024)

On the beach, Finn is turned away from Kelly discussing an ICU patient on the phone when Kelly runs into the surf and becomes overwhelmed. Sheila, watching, pleads for Kelly to “come on back” and starts running and shouting Kelly’s name.

In the cliff house, Steffy assures Liam that it’s fine for Kelly to be at the beach with Finn. Liam would have agreed a week ago, but that was before he saw Finn hugging Sheila. Now, he’s concerned none of them are safe on his watch.

In Forrester’s main office, Brooke watches Ridge making adjustments to a gold gown worn by a blonde model. Ridge sends Skyler out and Brooke gushes that he’s made another beautiful design. They kiss and canoodle. Brooke wishes they were still in Rome, it was so romantic… not only for them but for Hope and Thomas apparently. Ridge still has to talk to his son about that. Brooke asks if Ridge is glad he looked through the keyhole to see his destiny and they flash to their reunion. Ridge says his destiny was right in front of him the whole time. Brooke says sometimes you need to see things from another perspective. What Ridge would like to see right now is Sheila… behind bars.

They go over why Sheila is free to terrorize them and Ridge frets that she will find her way back into the building… she always does. Carter stresses she’s free to live her life as she wants. Brooke feels she’ll be a threat to them. Ridge adds that Steffy and her family are in her sights as well.

Carter joins Brooke and Ridge and updates them that Katie has taken care of talking points about Sheila’s release from prison; she wants them to stick to the official statements and give no interviews. Ridge grumbles about the threat, not just to them, but to Steffy and her family.

In the cliff house, Liam insists that he’s not overreacting to seeing Finn hug Sheila. He’s not trying to interfere in her marriage, but what happened is not normal. “I’m going to be extra vigilant where you and Kelly are concerned.”

On the beach, Sheila runs toward the drowning Kelly screaming her name. Finn continues his phone call and still has his back toward the unfolding scene.

In the cliff house, Steffy and Liam talk about how much he loves his girls. He describes the visceral drive to protect them. He flashes to the day Kelly was born and remembers kissing her tiny digits. “It’s amazing how much she looks like my mother. It’s in the eyes, it’s there.” She is an old soul with big thoughts and ideas, “I know she gets a lot of those ideas from you which is why I love her so much.” It physically hurts when he’s not with her. Steffy tells him he’s an incredible father. Liam revisits his concerns about Finn and his relationship with Sheila. She has a pull on him and that makes the whole situation dangerous.

On the beach, Sheila pulls off her shoes and launches herself into the surf as Finn continues to talk on the phone. He finally finishes and hears Kelly yelling for help. He races to the water just as Sheila pulls Kelly out. Finn runs with Kelly to the beach blanket and examines her as she coughs. Sheila kneels beside them. She and Finn lock eyes.

At Forrester, Ridge rants about Sheila. He’s sure she’ll weasel her way into Finn’s life. He’s not going to stand there and let something bad happen; they need to think of something else. Brooke reassures him and they hug. Ridge whispers, “I’ve missed this so much.” He gets angry thinking of Sheila but with Brooke by his side, he can face anything. They express their love and share another kiss. Ridge blurts, “Let’s get married again.” Brooke would love that. They kiss some more as she tells him he’s so sweet. She knows he’s worried about Sheila but he’s right… if they’re together, they’re stronger than ever. She reminds him how much Finn loves Steffy and the children, “He will keep them out of harm’s way. Trust me.”

In the cliff house, Steffy gets Finn’s voicemail and Liam guesses he and Kelly are having a really good time. He tells her that he never would have had an issue with them spending time together before he saw him hug Sheila at the courthouse. Steffy has to give her husband the benefit of the doubt. Liam argues that the stakes are too high because it involves Sheila. “We have to act now.”

On the beach, Finn tells Kelly he’s sorry, he didn’t hear her. “I shouldn’t have taken my eyes off of you, I’m sorry honey.” Kelly says, “It’s okay. She saved me.” Kelly looks at Sheila. Finn says she’s right. He tells Sheila, “Thank you. Mom, thank you.” Kelly asks, “She’s your mom?” Finn confirms that she is and asks Sheila what she’s doing there. She just wanted to see him. Finn marvels, “You saved her life. You saved Kelly’s life.”

In the cliff house, Liam keeps harping on Finn’s connection with his birth mother. Steffy can’t stand the thought of her husband embracing Sheila. “I have to believe my husband would never put me or my children in jeopardy.” She’s certain there’s nothing Sheila can do to convince Finn to let her back into their lives.
